Project Narrative
A mixed-use commercial block positioned along the East Coast Road — one of Chennai's most active and rapidly evolving urban corridors. The scheme is designed to serve a mix of retail and professional tenants across multiple levels, with an architectural language that reads as contemporary and durable without competing with the coastal character of its surroundings.
Designing a multi-tenant commercial envelope with sufficient architectural coherence along a high-visibility ECR frontage, while providing the internal flexibility required to accommodate varying commercial programmes over the building's life.
The design prioritises a robust structural grid and generous floor-to-ceiling heights that give future tenants genuine spatial flexibility. The facade is resolved in materials suited to the coastal climate — low-maintenance, thermally considered, and calibrated to the particular quality of light along the ECR.
