Project Narrative
A multi-floor residence in Coimbatore's GN Mills neighbourhood, designed for a family with distinct lifestyle requirements across three levels. The interior programme spans a generous living area through kitchen and bedroom suites to a bright second-floor guest suite — each floor resolved with the same material language while retaining a spatial identity suited to its occupants.
Maintaining visual and material continuity across three floors while ensuring each level has a distinct domestic character — preventing the home from reading as a stack of unrelated apartments.
A unified palette of warm timber, stone, and layered textiles was established at the outset and held consistently across all levels. Floor-to-floor transitions were treated as moments of arrival rather than mere corridors, and common areas were proportioned to anchor daily family life without overwhelming the quieter zones above.
A residence where floors are unmistakably related yet genuinely distinct — connected by a spatial sequence that rewards movement through the home and gives each member of the family a sense of ownership over their particular level.
