Project Narrative

A thoughtfully planned urban residence where the foyer is elevated as the architectural set-piece. The design moves from a considered entry sequence through bedroom suites and a compact but well-appointed kitchen — each space resolved with material warmth and a spatial clarity that makes the footprint feel far more generous than it is.

Challenge

Establishing a strong sense of arrival and spatial identity in a compact urban residence without resorting to excessive ornamentation or compromising practical day-to-day function.

Approach

Material and lighting effort was concentrated at the entry — textured wall surfaces, considered joinery, and layered ambient lighting create a foyer that carries its first impression through the rest of the home. Bedroom suites were kept calm and restrained to provide counterpoint to the more expressive entry.

Outcome

A residence that reads as considerably more considered than its scale suggests — the foyer sequence alone communicates a degree of spatial confidence that sets the tone for everything that follows.

Bedroom — principal sleeping space with bespoke fitted storage
Second bedroom — guest suite with warm material palette
Kitchen — clean and efficient with integrated cabinetry
Foyer — alternate view of the arrival sequence with textured wall detail
